Motivational

Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one's life for one's friends. (John 15:13)

Christian Booklet

A couple weeks ago I witnessed something that was truly remarkable and I felt as if it was important for me to share this experience. It brought tears to my eyes and it showed how powerful love can be. It's about two sisters who attend the same school, one is 6years old and the other is 8years old.

During the lunch break Leanne ( the 6yo) realized that the bottom of her shoe fell off, she said that because it was uncomfortable she took off her shoes and socks and began walking around bare feet. It wasn't long before some of the students began laughing and staring at her. One of the students saw her older sister Renee and told her that Leanne was walking around with no shoes.

Renee went looking for her sister and found her in the middle of a group of children that were laughing at her. Then she did the most amazing thing, she took off her shoes and bent down and put it on her sisters feet and then she held her sisters hand and walked with her to her class. I was shocked at the manner in which this 8 yo conducted herself, she said nothing to the other children and the only thing that she did was to give her a big hug.

I told a friend of mine who teaches at the school what happened and I asked her to give my contact number to their parents. Later that evening I spoke with their grandmother and she allowed me to speak to Renee. I asked her what was her reason for doing what she did and she said.

" I love my sister and I would never want anyone to make fun of her because I know that she would cry, so I walked bare foot for the rest of the day, they laughed but it didn't matter to me because they were not laughing at my sister"

I asked her Grandmother if I could get the pair of shoes, she said it was thrown in the garbage, I told her that it didn't matter as I felt compelled to write this story. We sometimes use the word LOVE out of context but this is a testimony to what LOVE really is.
